How It Works

Educate

Ten local participants spend 7 days learning with a plant-based doctor, a chef and a local facilitator. They explore and learn how the introduction of Western processed foods is linked to rising diabetes, heart disease, obesity and high blood pressure in their communities. Gaining a deep understanding of the science of nutrition, and how Africa's own beans, grains and greens already hold everything their communities need to thrive.

Our participants leave as leaders and proud guardians of Africa's incredible food culture, ready to keep it thriving for generations to come.

Activate

Leaders return home as teachers and champions, running classes of up to 30 people. Through organized diffusion, each learner "adopts" a family member, friend or neighbor to share what they've learned, so knowledge travels through trusted relationships.

Accelerate

Communities form social mobilization teams that carry the message to neighboring villages, choosing their own food heritage over processed imports and leading the way for Africa and the world.
